In January 2022, we decided to delay the release of our 2015 Gran Reserva 904 for at least another year.

At the time, the wine was already a great wine, but we considered that it still did not fully show all that this excellent vintage could offer us…

Today, the long-awaited moment has arrived at last! A truly extraordinary vintage is here: the first Gran Reserva 904 of 2015, the first vintage we have chosen as a 'Special Selection' in the nearly 120 years this extraordinary wine’s life.

The wine is made with 90% Tempranillo from our vineyards in Villalba, Briñas and Rodezno and 10% Graciano from our Montecillo estate in Fuenmayor. Perfect grapes that, for the first time, were optically sorted, one by one, before fermentation. During its four years of slow aging in American oak barrels made in the winery's cooperage, we carried out eight manual rackings using the traditional method by candlelight. 

     
This 2015 Gran Reserva 904 'Selección Especial' stands out for a broad range of aromas, freshness, an elegant balance between alcohol and acidity and well-polished, amiable tannins that give it a refined, outstanding mouthfeel. Over time, in will continue to round out its delicate and very long finish in the bottle, showcasing its great cellaring capacity.
