The President of La Rioja Alta, S.A., Guillermo de Aranzabal Agudo, was the winning nominee in the ‘Wine World Personality of the Year’ category at the annual Verema awards. Verema is the most visited digital community of Spanish-speaking wine enthusiasts in the world, with more than 138,000 registered users and more than 600,000 monthly unique visitors.
The award recognizes the long career of Aranzabal, fifth generation of the family in the Haro winery and President since 2005. he collected the award expressing his “sincere thanks to Verema for the nomination and to all the thousands of Internet users who have chosen me among such an outstanding list of candidates,” in a year with unprecedented voting figures with over 250,000 votes cast among the 17 designated categories. These are the only awards to be voted by both trade professionals and consumers at large.
In addition, two other nominations received by the La Rioja Alta, S.A. winery group, Viña Arana Gran Reserva 2015 and the Inspiring Days & Nights de Finca Martelo were finalists in their respective categories: Best Red Wine and Best Wine Tourism Experience.
