This prestigious list, showcasing outstanding wines under $40 (39 euros), features selections from the U.S., Italy, New Zealand, Argentina—and only one from Spain: Viña Alberdi.

Awarded a stellar score of over 90 points, Viña Alberdi captured the spotlight for its “complexity, freshness, fruit, spice, and structure,” as highlighted by Wine Spectator’s Spanish wine specialist, Alison Napjus. This recognition reflects the exceptional quality of carefully selected Tempranillo grapes from Rioja Alta and the winery’s dedication to traditional aging methods.

    Quien o quiénes fueron el o los fundadores de La Rioja Alta S A y en honor a quien se elaboró el vino o la marca "Viña Alberdi"

    Buenas tardes Tony, Los fundadores de nuestra bodega en 1890 fueron cinco familias, riojanas y vascas. Muchos de los actuales accionistas y directivos son descendientes directos de esas familias fundadoras. Viña Alberdi nació como marca en el año 1978, sustituyendo al vino que elaborábamos con el nombre de 'Tercer Año'. debe su nombre a D. Nicolás Alberdi, Presidente de la bodega de 1947 a 1952 y la primera cosecha en el mercado fue la de 1974. Un saludo, Julio.
